Leak to Chic...
Amanda and her husband were expecting their first baby. Their tub faucet had a constant drip, the tired fiberglass tub surround was cracked, and they were constantly fighting mold. It was no place to bathe their precious bundle of joy. We removed the old fiberglass tub surround, replaced the moldy drywall, repaired the leaky valve, and installed this beautiful tile so they were able to bring their little one home to a clean, mold free home.
Kristin's mother remodeled her house 22 years ago. Upon the completion of the remodel she kept the old slate tile that had been removed from the kitchen. Shortly after the remodel, she passed away, but Kristin kept the slate tile with the dream of using it in her home someday. We worked with Kristin to design this custom backsplash. We ensured each piece was installed to her liking - her dream is now a reality and she couldn't be happier.
Real slate has rough edges and does not naturally create attractive grout lines. We spent many hours laying the slate to determine the configuration that was to Kristin's liking and then cut each piece to give it a very attractive look.
20 years ago, my mother remodeled her kitchen. She perserved the beautiful sage slate because she wanted to use it on another project in her home, but she didn't have the chance because she passed away.
After she passed I took those boxes of slate and held on to them for years. When I purhcased a new home, I wanted to use them as a backsplash in my kitchen. Aaron not only did an outstanding job with his craftsmanship, but he took pride and care in doing the project. It exceeded my expectations and I love the final product!
Aaron's Professionalism, care, and commitment to seeing the project through my eyes was amazing!!!
